I've been in business enough to know how important it is to make your employees feel appreciated. I'm a firm believer in the importance of retaining staff, and I've been fortunate enough to work with the most amazing teams during the past 15 years.
We all know that it's hard to keep good employees, but I want to share with you some things I've found really helpful:
Listen to Your Staff. Let them know how important they are to you and your business, and ask them what they want out of the job.
Show Appreciation. Thank them for their hard work, especially when they go above and beyond to help. Show them you really mean it!
Let Them Have Fun. People are more likely to stay if they enjoy their job, so make sure there's time for breaks and socializing during the workday.
I know what it feels like to feel valued and appreciated—and that's what I try to do for them every day. I know they'll go above and beyond for me and our business because they want us to succeed as much as I do.
